Although I've lived in Houston my entire life, my cell phone has a Los Angeles area code.
Flashback waves
I flew out to California back in September to shoot with Matthew Cooke. When I landed at LAX I turned on my Nokia POS only to discover that my battery was going to die at any minute. Since I forgot my charger back at home I decided to keep it turned off for most of the weekend. But oooooh noooooo...that phone would have none of it. It wanted to die a slow and agonizing phone death. The stupid thing froze up and I couldn't turn it off without pulling it apart into three pieces and putting it back together.
I couldn't take it anymore, and Jeffree Star drove me to the nearest Cingular store. By the way - he is the most amazing and entertaining phone-shopping escort. I bought a new service plan there, used Jeffree's home address as my own, and voila! They issued me my posh LA number. When I got back to Houston my attorney friend told me having an LA number made me look more important. And my friends made fun of me because lots of people in Houston think people from LA are kinda vapid (For the record, I don't share their opinions). So now it's just too funny to change it.
It drives my sister crazy sometimes because she lives 10 minutes away from me but the phone calls are charged as long-distance.

I can't believe April is almost over already. I've been staring at a basket of peeps and Easter candy wondering what to do with it now that I don't eat junk like that anymore. I've been tempted to just sample some but that's how it starts huh... First ones free.
Open the gates of hell and let the devil in the door and the next thing you know your house is packed with New Orleans refugees cooking creole food in your toaster oven.
I had fun some shoots tonight. One in studio and one outside shot in B&W, they'll be posted on the site soon for all to seeeeeee.
I don't know about you kids, but I'm going to hit the hay momma has a salon to coordinate in the morning. Sweet Dreams :)
