hello world.

We're back in business. It's the tenth of September and we have been working every day for almost a month on fixing up this house.

I live in a cute little house in a cute little neighborhood on the riverside in a place I didn't expect to see in Arkansas. Chase and I spend all of our time together working on the house or on our computers, and for our "free time" we go down to the river and swim or go fishing. Sometimes we drive around looking for weird little antique shops and sketchy pawn and gun shops. We read to each other too, right now we're reading Pimp by Iceberg Slim.

Once a week when we don't go down to the river to catch minnows for our alligator snapping turtle we go to the pet store and buy the larger feeder fish, then come home and watch the turtle rip the fish apart. Sometimes we put the webcam on the turtle while he eats. One day when we had the webcam on the turtle all day we had over a thousand people pass through to look at it. People really like the turtle. I really like it. Chase said it's like watching a serial killer at work.

I still won't eat meat but I really like watching the turtle do it.

I spend so much time occupied and happy that I figured it would be fun for other people to be here. But it's not. At least it wasn't for my parents who couldn't even make it 24 hours here before leaving. Then I thought about all of the people I know that expressed interest in coming here...I don't know anyone else that's like this. There's some photographers that want to come up here and that will be fun because we'll be working but how do I entertain our friends? Take them to the river? People don't want to see that.

I was the only person I knew that would sit out on the roof or the lawn and do nothing and I thought that was fun.

I'm finally at a wonderful place now where success has crossed paths with genuine seclusion. Now if only I can figure out what to do with our guests...

That sounds perfect. I really enjoy doing nothing at all. And reading. And fishing. I've always wanted some house out in the middle of nowhere, away from people. sigh. I'm a bit jealous.

that sounds like a blast to me!!!! :-)

For the guests: Mushroom and Kaleidoscopes.

Congrats on your place. I wouldn't have thought to fidn you in rural Arkansas! I live next door in MS and love it, I've been here twenty years and don't want to live anywhere else. It's definitely not for everyone, though. Why don't you buy some fishing gear and take your guests fishing? It's not about catching fish, it's just about sitting and enjoying... like you said.

You look awesome in the woods. Need more nature visits. Unleash your inner druid lol
